Name
We did not choose the name, it chose us. The Mountain Paradise (cro. Gorski Raj) is a holiday house in a pine forest, close to the Lokve Lake, in the area called by the locals a “mountain paradise”. They know why. Ours is house number 1. Jokingly, our guests will say that the mountain paradise starts with us. But it is not all a joke. Family Cehic built this house in late eighties as the first holiday home in the area. They did it for themselves, taking advantage of the opportunity to choose the ideal location and surroundings.

The Eagle Owl (lat. Bubo bubo) is not a common bird, but part of the story of Mountain Paradise. She laid her nest here, long before us and we all came to be her guests. It is a rare and protected bird species, they say smart, which is why they became a symbol of wisdom. And in Mountain Paradise we truly love to hang out with the smart folks. In our story, the Eagle Owl is a symbol of the many animal species that jump, run or fly. The bear and the boar, the deer and the fox, the musteline and the grumble, the bobcat and the eagle - all are inhabitants and neighbors of the region of Mountain Paradise, curious to know what we think of their mountain lodges.
